The following constitute the terms and conditions to which students agree when booking. Throughout the Terms and Conditions STU means Sensory Time UK. Sensory Time UK reserves the right to review and update these periodically.
Ownership & intellectual property rights
All STU Academy materials, whether on our website or at a course day, are owned by STU. All intellectual property rights in all materials available from STU, including the design, graphics and text of all printed materials and the audio of all seminars, webinars and podcasts, are owned by STU. No Academy content may be copied, reproduced, uploaded, posted, displayed or linked to in any way, in whole or in part, without our prior permission. Any such use is strictly prohibited and will constitute an infringement of Sensory Time UK intellectual property rights.
Health and safety at the face-to-face training course
You must comply with all health and safety rules and regulations and any other reasonable security requirements that apply at the premises at which the courses/seminars/conferences are provided at.
Data Protection Act 1998
Non-sensitive Personal data collected will be used for the purpose of students and course administration and may be disclosed to appropriate bodies/organisations associated with such course.
We will not send marketing communication to any individual or organisations who have requested that their details are not used for such purposes.
We take appropriate physical, electronic and managerial measures to ensure that we keep your information secure, accurate and up to date, and that we only keep it as is reasonable and necessary
How to find out what personal information we hold about you; You can request details of the personal information we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. We may require you to pay an administrative fee of £10.00 before we satisfy your request.
We have an Equal Opportunities Policy, to enable us to ensure that all students are treated fairly and their requirements are fully met.
STU will make every effort to accommodate special requirements that have been notified in advance on the booking form.
Please note that we do not provide any specialist equipment and/or personnel such as signers or translators; however, these can be sourced at your own cost.
Booking & Confirmation
Before you book onto the course/seminar/conference STU require a form to be completed and signed.
In doing this, there is an agreement to:
Provide true, accurate, current and complete information about yourself as prompted by the relevant booking form.
You are required to maintain and promptly update the data we hold.
STU reserve the right to refuse a booking.
Payments are made through STRIPE a secure online payment process.
Installments – we cannot accept any payments in the form of installment unless otherwise arranged.
Deposit – This is NON-REFUNDABLE. Under special circumstances the non-refundable deposit can be transferred to an alternative date.
Full Balance – This is due 8 weeks prior to course date
A receipt will be sent to you by email from Stripe confirming payment. Stripe will receive the information needed to verify and authorise your payment card and to process your order and is under strict legal and contractual obligations not to disclose this information to third parties
Please note that if you do not provide accurate details (including type of card and number) or if your credit card company does not authorise payment, your application will be deemed void. STU will not accept any liability for costs incurred as a result of applications deemed void in this manner.
All STU practitioners must pay a fee of £300 per annum. This covers marketing, advertising, promotional material, webpage, on-going support 7 days week and access to exclusive offers, discounts, conferences and seminars*
*Seminars and conferences that incur costs are the responsibility of the student.

We expect all student to be respectful of our Tutors, who are there to submerge you in learning and aid your understanding.
Course days and seminars are Tutor led. Our Tutors are highly experienced and come from professionals back grounds such as Early Years Teaching, Babywearing Practitioners, Nursing and Child Development. On set seminar days, and conferences professionals such as Antenatal Practitioner’s, Paediatric Nurses, Hd Early Years Practitioners will attend for broad exploration and aid knowledge gaps.
It is important that individuals are:
- On time to course and seminars.
- Understanding of the need to complete and sign booking form.
- Respectful of the learning environment and peers.
- Participate in group work.
- Physically well enough to participate in learning and demonstrations.
- Reliable, with the necessary disposition and communication skills.
- Easily reachable in the event of an emergency at work.
- 16 years old and above.
Sensory Time UK reserves the right to remove any student from a course/seminar/conference whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate by STU. In these circumstances, STU will neither refund any fees nor reimburse any other costs.
Seminars – Continuing professional development is the holistic commitment of professionals towards the enhancement of personal skills and proficiency throughout their careers.
CPD is widely recognised as fundamental to the improvement of standards and skills for individuals and their industries.
We require that all our practitioners attend at least 1 seminar every 12months, there will be several running throughout the year.
In addition to seminars, there will be opportunity to attend our yearly conference and award ceremony.
- Course Day – 8 hours
- Seminars – 16 hours
- Exam – 1 hour
- Project – Minimum of 30 hours
- Marking & Feedback- 1 week
- First Aid – 5 hours
- DBS – 2 weeks
- Insurance – 1 hour
Students must attend and complete all aspects of the course to qualify for certification. The full cost of the course will be charged for students who arrive late or are absent from all or part of the course. This applies even if they are refused admittance due to lateness.
On completion of all requirements, an accredited recognised certification will be delivered. STU has the right not to deliver a certificate. In the event of this, the student will be contacted to discuss the reasons and to implement a strategy to obtain.
PLEASE CONTACT US AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
If you cancel your place more than 8 weeks before the course start date, you will receive a 75% refund of your course fee after deducting the accreditation fee. If you cancel within the 8 weeks before the course is due to start, NO refund will be given; subject to availability it may be possible to transfer to another course date. If it is possible to fill your place, you will receive a refund; but only when we have received booking from new student.
In the event of the course dates been cancelled you will be offered a refund or an alternative date.
We manage waiting lists for our courses and will always endeavor to fill any space with someone from the waiting list. If you’re unable to commit to a course date, or we are full please ask to be placed on our waiting list.
Sensory Time Practitioner
STU Academy qualifies you as an individual to deliver Sensory Time classes. CPD accredits the STU Academy and it’s contents. It does not accredit you to deliver any alternative activities or groups.
STU is suitable for those looking to work for STU as an employee and/or to deliver your own independent Sensory Time Classes.
In accordance with these terms and conditions you agree to use the name ‘Sensory Time’ and all of its content to deliver your classes. For example: Sensory Time Exeter.
All Marketing and promotional materials will promote you as an STU Practitioner and your Sensory Time classes as part of the STU brand.
